Privacy Policy for Pulong

This Privacy Policy explains how Pulong ("the App," "we," "us") handles information when you use our Android application. Pulong is a savings group (paluwagan) tracking tool designed to help organizers manage group members, contributions, and payout rounds.
We've written this policy in plain language because we believe you should be able to actually understand it. The short version: Pulong stores your data on your own device. We do not operate a server, and we do not collect, see, or have access to your group, member, or contribution data.
1. Information the App Stores
To provide its core features, Pulong stores the following information locally on your device only, in a private database that is not accessible to other apps or to us:
- Group names, contribution amounts, currencies, and payout schedules you create
- Member names, phone numbers, and messenger handles you enter
- Contribution and payment records you mark within the app
- Your app preferences (such as theme and onboarding status)
We do not transmit this information to any server, and we do not have the ability to view it. There is no account creation, login, or cloud sync in Pulong — everything lives in local storage on your phone, the same way a notes app or spreadsheet would.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Pulong does not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any account identifiers (there is no account system)
- Analytics or usage tracking data
- Advertising identifiers
- Location data
- Photos, contacts, or media from your device
- Any data for marketing or advertising purposes
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in this app.
3. Backups and File Exports
Pulong lets you create a backup file of your data, and export your group or contribution records as CSV or PDF files, for your own recordkeeping. These files are created and stored on your device, and only leave your device if and when you choose to share, save, or upload them somewhere yourself (for example, attaching a backup to an email you send, or saving an export to your own cloud storage). We have no visibility into, or access to, these files once they exist.
4. Reminder Messages
Pulong can help you send a payment reminder to a group member via SMS, WhatsApp, Viber, or Messenger. When you choose this option, the App opens the corresponding messaging app already installed on your device, with a reminder message pre-filled, for you to review and send yourself. Pulong does not send these messages automatically, does not read your existing messages or contacts, and has no access to your conversations in those apps. Your use of those messaging apps is governed by their own respective privacy policies.
5. Notifications
Pulong may schedule local reminder notifications (for example, to remind you when a contribution round is coming due). These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device and do not involve any external server or push notification service.
6. In-App Purchases (Pulong Pro)
If you choose to purchase Pulong Pro (monthly subscription or lifetime purchase), that transaction is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive, see, or store your payment information (such as card numbers) — Google handles all billing details directly. We only receive a confirmation from Google Play indicating whether your purchase is active, which we use to unlock Pro features on your device. Google's handling of your payment information is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
7. Permissions the App Requests
Pulong requests the following Android permissions, used only for the purposes described:

Pulong does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, location, call log, or SMS messages.
8. Data Retention and Your Control
Because all of your data is stored locally:
- You can delete individual groups, members, or records at any time within the App.
- You can remove all App data at once by uninstalling Pulong, or by clearing the App's storage in your device's Android settings.
- Backup files you've created remain wherever you saved or shared them, under your own control, even after you delete data from the App itself or uninstall it.
9. Children's Privacy
Pulong is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Because the App does not collect or transmit any personal information to us in the first place, no such information is retained by us regardless of who uses the App.
10. Security
Since your data never leaves your device through Pulong, the main thing protecting it is the security of your own device (such as your phone's lock screen and Android's app sandboxing). We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a secure lock method.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add a new feature that changes how data is handled. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

This policy describes Pulong as of the date above. If a future version of the App adds features that send or receive data over the internet (beyond Google Play Billing as described above), this policy will be updated to reflect that before such a feature is released.
